Contact Sensor

One of the most important factors in plasma cutting is achieving the correct initial torch height.

In addition to the tried and tested tactile method, IHT Automation also offers an electrical contact method of initial position finding.

This system generates an electrical signal when the tip of the cutting nozzle touches the surface of the workpiece. Bending of thin sheets is avoided and the torch always runs at the correct cutting height.

Tactile position sensing is always active. If the workpiece is insulated (coated or rusty surface), the contact sensor also detects the surface. 

The contact sensor is available as an option for both the M 4000 PCS and M 4000 BAS systems.
